About The Position

Job Title: CT/XR Technologist
Facility: Winneshiek Medical Center (WinnMed)
Location: Decorah, Iowa
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract (13 weeks minimum)

Position Summary

The CT/XR Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiography and computed tomography, in accordance with established standards and guidelines. This role includes providing both routine and emergency imaging services, assisting physicians during procedures, and supporting patient care needs. The technologist will participate in rotating weekend on-call/coverage and collaborate with the Radiology Department to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic and CT equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images according to physician orders and department protocols.

• Perform general radiography, portable radiography, surgery imaging support, and computed tomography.

• Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and accurate results.

• Respond to emergency imaging requests promptly and efficiently.

• Document imaging procedures and patient information accurately within the EMR system.

• Perform clerical duties and assist with patient care tasks as needed.

• Maintain equipment functionality, perform basic troubleshooting, and report issues promptly.

• Participate in rotating weekend on-call/coverage (no weeknight call).

• Adhere to all hospital, departmental, radiation safety, and HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

• Current ARRT certification in Radiography; CT certification strongly preferred (or ability to obtain within contract period).

• Valid Iowa state license (or eligibility).

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

• Minimum of 1 year of radiography and CT experience preferred.

• Strong technical, organizational, and patient care skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
