Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, BLS and ARDMS certification, and strong Epic charting skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a medical imaging ultrasound department
• Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Performs routine and specialized ultrasound examinations for patients of all ages
• Must be able to assess abdominal arterial and venous systems using color imaging
• Works with various ultrasound equipment and is expected to be knowledgeable in its operation
• Requires use of Epic EMR with documented experience
• No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Conducts diagnostic ultrasound procedures and prepares patients for examinations
• Assists radiologist with biopsies and orders labs and pathology as directed
• Prepares and maintains sterile trays and equipment, and troubleshoots issues as needed
• Guides students and fellow technologists, sharing departmental protocols
• Participates in QA, QC, and QI programs within the department
• RTO (Requested Time Off) not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Employees may not remain on continuous assignment for more than 1 year and must take a 6-month break before returning
• Travel partners are not permitted

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year ultrasound/sonography experience
• Associate’s degree in Ultrasound/Sonography or completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program
• Current BLS (AHA) and ARDMS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Competency in performing and adapting ultrasound procedures, including sterile technique for biopsies
• Proficiency in English and basic computer knowledge
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and multicultural sensitivity skills
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• License required if applicable
