Social Worker Qualifications

• Active Georgia LMSW or LCSW license required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical social work experience in Emergency Department or Acute Care settings
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system
• BLS certification preferred
• Pediatric social work experience preferred
• Strong communication, crisis intervention, and clinical assessment skills

Social Worker Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive social work services to pediatric patients and families in the Emergency Department and acute care units
• Conduct psychosocial assessments, provide crisis intervention, and coordinate care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care and discharge planning
• Document all interventions and communications in Epic EMR
• Advocate for patient needs and connect families with Georgia community resources
• Ensure continuity of care through effective discharge planning and follow-up
