ER RN Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Danville, VA 24541 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Facility: 250-bed academic community hospital
• Department: Emergency Room (ER) / Emergency Department
• Contract Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Start Date: October 28, 2025
• End Date: January 27, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends/as needed
• Unit Size: 31 beds + 2 triage rooms (including 7 beds for Behavioral Health/Acute patients)
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 (may vary based on unit needs)
• Electronic Health Record: MedHost (ED), Meditech (admit holds/behavioral health)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780–$1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC (Handle with Care available on-site)
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Professional, positive, compassionate, and strong team player
• Scrub color: Any color of traveler's choice

ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting
• Assess, triage, and manage acute and behavioral health patients of all ages
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using MedHost and Meditech EHR systems
• Respond to medical emergencies and deliver life-saving interventions
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development
