Emergency Room RN Job Details

Facility: 250-bed academic community hospital
Unit: Emergency Department (ER)

Start Date: October 14, 2025
End Date: January 13, 2026
Hours per Week: 36
Shift: 12-hour days (09:00 – 21:00)
Orientation: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910–$1960

ER RN Qualifications

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience (3-5 years preferred)
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (must be obtained prior to start)
Consent to random drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form
Must reside at least 60 miles from Danville, VA to qualify as a travel nurse

ER RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting
Assess, triage, and manage patients with acute and emergent medical conditions
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Participate in hospital orientation and ongoing clinical training as required
