Job Title: RRT
Location: Rockford, IL
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights - Three 12-hour shifts 1800 to 0630, Every other weekend

Job Description:
Assist with The Joint Commission accreditation and maintaining survey readiness

· Participates in facility committees on behalf of Respiratory Therapy

· Participates in Regional Peri-Natal Designation process

· Maintains proficiency in the processing and interpreting of point of care (POC) blood gases, glucose, and electrolytes; and collaborates on quality control with the POC Coordinator.

· Attends deliveries and performs resuscitative duties as part of NICU team.

· Attends high risk deliveries at outlying hospitals with RN for gestational age >32 weeks

· Attends high risk deliveries at outlying hospitals with RN & NNP for gestational age <32 weeks

· Cross-trains and maintains proficiency in taping IV’s, Assisting in umbilical line placement, placing oro/nasogastric tubes required. Maintaining proficiency in intubation and surfactant administration

· Operating, troubleshooting, and monitoring of respiratory equipment during air and ground transport including ambulance, helicopter and fixed wing.

· Maintains a high level of critical thinking to allow for appropriate utilization of protocol driven treatments in the absence of a physician

· Maintains Transport Certification by attending yearly skills lab and helicopter safety education

· Attends annual chest tube education and education with the Medical Director

· Attends monthly transport meetings, Morbidity & Mortatlity Review, and quarterly transport education if provided.

· Provides education to hospitals within the region when needed

· May require on call coverage for unit or transport.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program

Minimum 1 year respiratory experience required, 6 months critical care.

Additional Requirements:

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

RRT

If not eligible for RRT, CRT required

CPR, ACLS, PALS, NRP

IL Respiratory Care Practitioner license

NPS required

Initial STABLE Certification
