Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology/X-Ray Technologist with RRT-R, BLS (AHA), and at least 2 years of recent acute care experience for a night shift contract in a Level I/II trauma setting.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital X-ray unit providing care to a Level I and II trauma patient population
• Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend
• Holiday coverage and call rotation with a 45-minute response requirement as needed
• Travelers may be scheduled to float between multiple units and locations per staffing requirements
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• EMR usage not specified
• Duties include performing X-ray imaging on adult trauma patients and responding to urgent or emergent situations
• Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to other units if the primary unit has no need
• One-week orientation is typical with start details provided in the welcome letter
• Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start, with strict passing criteria and limited attempts
• Parking on-site requires a permit; alternate transportation options available
• Scrub or dress code not specified
• RTO requests over one week may extend the assignment; holiday and weekend rotation is required
• First-time travelers may be considered for some units

Requirements

• RRT-R and BLS certification through the American Heart Association are required
• State licensure required if applicable
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in acute care as an X-Ray Technologist is required
• Level I and II trauma experience is preferred
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the work location
• Local candidates are not accepted
