Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist Assistant with NM state licensure and BLS certification for a mixed acute and outpatient rehab assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a rehab department serving both acute and outpatient settings
• Patient caseload includes a wide variety of physical and developmental rehabilitation cases
• Floating between departments or local locations within a 20-mile radius is required
• Schedule is 8-hour day shifts, primarily Monday through Friday, with one weekend shift (Saturday-Sunday) per month
• Caseload and hours are adjusted to ensure a 40-hour work week
• Work under supervision of a Physical Therapist administering therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient discharge goals
• Promote patient and caregiver independence by optimizing use of available resources
• Must demonstrate competency in addressing physical and developmental needs across the lifespan
• Return travelers must wait one year after permanent employment before being considered again
• A 50-mile radius rule applies, with no local candidates accepted
• Testing or training modules are completed during orientation as needed

Requirements

• Current NM state Physical Therapist Assistant license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
• Minimum of two years recent experience as a PTA in the specialty required
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment required
• High school diploma or GED required
