Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient role with cross-coverage in acute care, requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Primarily outpatient caseload with one day per week in acute care
• Daily caseload: 8-10 patients in outpatient, 10-12 in acute care
• EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
• Potential floating within the same discipline across local campuses
• Holiday coverage requires working 2 of 3 major winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
• Travelers may request only 1 day off between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26
• Responsibilities include providing physical therapy services primarily in outpatient settings with supplemental acute care coverage
• COVID-19 vaccination is required, with medical or religious exemptions available upon request
• Returning travelers who have been employed in the past 12 months may not be considered
• References are highly preferred and will be required during onboarding if not initially submitted

Requirements

• Active Iowa PT license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• At least 1 year of previous physical therapy experience required
• Outpatient experience is required; inpatient experience is encouraged
• Prior travel contract experience preferred
• Experience using EPIC EMR required
• Proof of home/taxable address required for eligibility
