Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with Michigan licensure and at least one year of experience for a patient-centered acute care hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital therapy unit with responsibilities for inpatient and occasional home care and hospice services
• Day shift schedule with occasional requirement to float to other facilities within the region
• Provide assessments, develop and revise treatment plans, and document progress for a broad range of patient needs
• Deliver manual therapy, exercise instruction, application of physical agents, and equipment training for patients and families
• Supervise and educate PT assistants, aides, volunteers, students, and occasionally deliver lectures to hospital staff and community
• Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and maintain compliance with patient safety and national safety goals
• Follow established guidelines for incident reporting and safety, including participation in drills and real emergencies
• Day-to-day work emphasizes respect, dignity, and customer-centered care

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctorate preferred
• One to two years of recent physical therapy experience required
• Valid Physical Therapy license in Michigan required; may practice with temporary license but must obtain permanent license within one year (license required if applicable)
• Valid driver’s license if providing home care or hospice visits
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and transfer patients with assistance
• Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills
