Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Monday through Friday day shift assignment, requiring California licensure and a passion for high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Work in a rehabilitation therapy department covering acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient physical therapy settings
• Schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with no weekends required
• Patient caseload consists of 8-9 patients per day with 1 hour for evaluations and 45 minute follow-up sessions, and no double booking
• Therapy modalities and procedures include spinal traction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, diathermy, infra-red light, therapeutic exercise, soft tissue mobilization, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, orthotic/prosthetic training, and taping
• Work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, following prescribed treatment plans and documenting patient progress
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff development opportunities
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and provide effective treatment strategies tailored to patient needs
• Maintain patient and departmental records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Adhere to professional appearance and dress code requirements

Requirements

• Graduate of an APTA-approved Physical Therapist Assistant Program
• Current and active PTA license in California (license required if applicable)
• Current BCLS certification
• Experience or interest in acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient therapy settings preferred
• Proficiency in PT procedures, modalities, and documentation
