Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer with at least 1 year of pediatric echo experience or equivalent for a day shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric cardiology echo department serving both inpatient and outpatient populations
• Average caseload is 4-5 pediatric cardiac echo studies per session
• Day shifts, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Travelers may be the first to float within their clinical scope if required
• Responsibilities include performing both inpatient and outpatient pediatric cardiac echo studies
• Participation in required online training modules during orientation, up to 8 hours, which are self-reported
• Return staff must have a 1-year separation before reapplying to travel positions
• Candidates with a DNR from Rady’s will not be considered, and rehire eligibility for former travelers will be reviewed as needed
• Maximum of 10 days requested time off allowed, none within the first week of assignment

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of pediatric echo experience, or 6 months with 100% pediatric population
• Current RDCS certification in pediatrics required
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography training program or equivalent experience in pediatric or adult echocardiography
• At least 2 professional references from supervisor level or higher, obtained within the last year or from most recent employer
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility to be eligible
