Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring cardiac training and a CA RN license or pending licensure.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) of a children's hospital
• Patient population includes pediatric cardiac and heart transplant cases
• Day and night shifts available with 3x12-hour scheduling
• Weekend requirement is 6 shifts per 4-week schedule; nights are Fri/Sat, days are Sat/Sun
• Must work 2 out of 3 holidays with no holiday RTO approved
• Floating within scope to other units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Unit staffed for 30 beds
• Free traveler parking is provided
• Must be comfortable floating to similar units based on staffing needs
• Pre-start modules required and do not count toward orientation hours
• Scrub color choice is flexible except black; any color except black is permitted
• Level 1 trauma teaching facility environment
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays and no holiday RTO is permitted
• Perm staff must wait one year before applying for travel positions
• Candidates with certain prior employment eligibility issues at associated hospitals may not be considered

Requirements

• Active CA RN license or eligibility to obtain with documented ETA for posting
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVPICU experience with pediatric cardiac training
• Current certifications in BLS and PALS
• Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation
• Heart transplant experience required
• Flu shot required before start
• Not accepting local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers considered if highly experienced
