About The Position

Summary

The Paramedic provides high-quality emergency medical care, including basic and advanced life support (BLS/ALS), to critically ill or injured patients in a pre-hospital and inter-facility transport setting. The role requires strong clinical decision-making, collaboration within interdisciplinary teams, and the ability to respond effectively in high-stress environments. Paramedics will conduct ongoing patient assessments, initiate appropriate interventions, and document care in compliance with protocols and hospital standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic and advanced life support (BLS/ALS) to patients in emergency and transport settings.

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, measure vital signs, and document findings accurately in Zoll EMS Charts.

• Initiate and implement interventions in accordance with established protocols and scope of practice.

• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, EMTs, and other healthcare professionals in various crew configurations (Medic/Medic, Medic/EMT, RN/Medic, RN/EMT).

• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition, treatment, and response to interventions.

• Assist with treatments, tests, and procedures as ordered and supervised by providers or registered nurses.

• Provide safe and compassionate care while stabilizing critically ill or injured patients during transport.

• Maintain equipment, prepare treatment rooms, and ensure readiness for patient care.

• Demonstrate strong independent judgment and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year Paramedic experience required; 3 years preferred.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; successful completion of an EMS Paramedic program.

• Licensure/Certification:

  • Wisconsin EMT Paramedic Certification - Required

  • Active Wisconsin Driver's License in good standing - Required

  • Michigan Paramedic Certification - Required (eligibility for reciprocity if NREMT-P certified)

  • BLS (AHA) - Required

  • ACLS (AHA) - Required

  • PALS (AHA) - Required

  • NRP - Required

  • WI Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) Endorsement - Preferred

• Charting System: Experience with Zoll EMS Charts (training provided).
