Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Nurse to join our team on the J6 Orthopedics unit. This unit is licensed for 32 individual rooms and is equipped with a comprehensive range of medical technologies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and embody our core values of commitment and positive impact.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 32 individual rooms
• Number of Staff: 50
• Staffing Structure:
  • Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 3 PCTs, & 1 HUC
  • Night Shift: 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 2 PCTs, & 1 HUC
• Patient Ratios:
  • Day Shift: 5:1 (6:1 stretch)
  • Night Shift: 6:1 (7:1 stretch)

Responsibilities

• Perform dressing changes and suture/staple removal
• Oversee Foley Catheter and NG Tube management
• Maintain and remove wound vacs
• Provide compassionate care to all patients and families

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • North Carolina Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Preferred Skills:
  • Previous hospital experience
  • Orthopedic nursing experience
