Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least one year of OR experience, holding an active NJ or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Shifts are 12.5 hours, working 3 nights per week from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Patient care includes perioperative services for a diverse surgical population spanning pediatric to geriatric patients
• Requires use of Epic EMR system
• Assignment may require floating to a nearby sister hospital
• Provide perioperative nursing care including pre-operative and postoperative patient assessments and education
• Maintain thorough and accurate patient documentation according to EMR guidelines
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol standards
• Deliver patient-centered care while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team
• Must demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia types, and emergency equipment
• Scrub requirements will follow hospital guidelines
• Travelers are eligible for assignments up to one calendar year before a required 30–60 day break; returning after a break requires confirmation of eligibility
• Role requires maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all patient and staff interactions

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum of one year recent Operating Room RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing is preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
