Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient rehab position at an academic medical center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit in an acute care setting
- Average daily census of 12-16 patients with a 1:1 staffing ratio
- Patient diagnoses include multi-trauma, CVA/stroke, neurological conditions, and post-operative orthopedic surgery
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- No modality or prosthetic skills required; basic orthotic and splinting skills are a plus but not required
- Unit accepts first-time travelers with the required experience
- You may be assigned to an Emergency Team with expectations to stay during hurricane events as needed
- Five-day orientation program before starting assignment
- Two manager or supervisor references required for clearance to start
- If previously employed at this health system, must be separated for at least one year
- RTO (requested time off) must be discussed in interview to be honored
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- Active LA state license or compact license required
- NBCOT certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant inpatient rehab experience
- License required if applicable
- Must live more than 65 miles from the facility
