Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardio Thoracic Telemetry position in Illinois requiring an active IL RN license and telemetry training.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Cardio Thoracic Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• 70-bed unit caring for post-cath lab and thoracic patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 from 7p-11p and 1:5-6 from 11p-7a
• Uses Epic for computerized charting and Med Pyxis for medication management
• Assigned to 3 consecutive 12-hour night shifts from 7:00pm-7:00am with every other weekend and rotating holiday requirements
• Agency RNs may float to ICU, Step Down, Tele, and Med-Surg units as needed, with specific patient assignments based on the unit
• Three shifts of unit orientation with a preceptor, plus Epic and Healthstream educational modules
• Primary duties include assessing, medicating, and recovering cath lab and thoracic patients
• Scrubs are required as dress code for this unit
• Will accept local candidates
• Holiday rotations include standard and eve shifts as designated by the unit
• External agency nurses may be prioritized for floating before core staff

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with telemetry training
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
