• Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Michigan nursing jobs)
• Unit: 3N Cardiovascular Unit (54-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 1/12/2026)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed)
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; 2 out of 3 holidays required
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Charting System: Cerner Powerchart
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1770 - $1820

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state; pending accepted)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending certifications considered)
• Experience with Cerner charting required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to similar units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Completion of up to 8 hours of pre-start modules (self-reported)

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke, arrhythmias, and chest pain
• Monitor patients using cardiac telemetry (remote and on-unit)
• Administer and manage cardiac drips and vasoactive medications (no titration required)
• Perform blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and wound care
• Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Float to similar units or affiliate hospitals based on census and volume
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to facility policies
