Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) / PCU

Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts/week
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Position Overview:

MVHS Inc. is seeking experienced Intermediate Care (IMCU) / PCU RNs for night shifts. Candidates must have a strong background in progressive or stepdown care, with experience managing patients with neuro, cardiac, and respiratory needs. Floating within the system is required. Local candidates are accepted with adjusted pay.

Certifications Required:

• Active NY RN License (must be verified via NURSYS at submission)
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience
• Documented travel experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with intermediate-to-high acuity patients
• EMR: Epic experience required

Submission Requirements:

• Updated resume with 2+ years of relevant IMCU/stepdown experience
• 2 recent Charge/Manager references from IMCU
• Specialty-specific skills checklist
• Valid driver’s license with matching address
• NURSYS verification for all active RN licenses
• Include RTO (Requested Time Off) with submission

Skills & Competencies:

• Able to manage patients with complex conditions such as:
  • Neuro: Stroke, seizures, altered mental status
  • Cardiac: MI, CV stepdown, post-op cardiac
  • Respiratory: COPD, BiPAP, DKA, sepsis
• Proficient with intermediate care technology including:
  • Temp pacers
  • Chest tubes
  • A-lines
  • Bipap, Neptune, VapoTherm
  • Ventilators (chronic vents with RT support)
