WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Step Down Nurse a for a 13-week contract assignment at a Prestigious Hospital in New Haven, CT.  Travelers can earn up to $2,124 per week for this role.    

Job Function:  

• Night Shift.
• 3x12: 7pm - 7am.
• Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.    
• Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.  
• Educates patients on surgical procedures. Records patients’ medical information and vital signs.  
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays.  
• Initiates corrective action whenever the patient.  

Job Requirements:  

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Connecticut.

• 2 years of acute care experience in this specialty.

• 3 years of Step-Down Unit (SDU) experience required.

• First-time travelers accepted.

• Must have at least 1 year of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

• Must have experience and proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring.
