Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse (PACU RN) 

Location: Washington, DC 

Start Date: November 3, 2025

We are seeking a highly skilled PACU RN to join our surgical recovery team in Washington, DC. This is a full-time travel contract requiring advanced post-operative care experience across a diverse surgical population. Candidates must hold an active DC RN license at the time of submission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from pediatric, GYN, neuro/spine, ortho/total joints, ophthalmology, urology, and bariatric procedures
• Monitor patient vitals and manage pain and sedation protocols
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe recovery
• Participate in call rotations and weekend/holiday coverage
• Maintain compliance with infection control and isolation precautions

Schedule Details:

• Day shift: 3x12-hour (07:00–20:00)
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Call requirement: 2 weekend (12-hour) and 4 weeknight (8-hour) shifts per 4-week period; self-scheduled

Qualifications:

• Active DC RN license (required at time of submission)
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience (1.5 years considered with strong clinical background and prior travel experience)
• Proficient in post-op care for high-acuity surgical patients

Certifications Required:

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
