Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN with strong cardiac surgery skills and a valid NC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital operating room setting with 12 ORs including a Hybrid OR
• Cares for cardiac and thoracic surgical patients including CABG (on and off bypass), valve replacement, Bentall procedures, and pulmonary embolisms
• Performs Balloon Pump, Impella, TAVR hybrid cases, and advanced thoracic procedures such as VATS, thoracotomy, lobectomy, decortication, and wedge biopsy
• Expected case volume is 35-40 cases per day
• Call is required and may be heavy, with 1-2 weekly 16-hour shifts (3p-7a) and one full weekend every 4th weekend (3p Friday-7a Monday)
• Flexibility required to float to other ORs as needed
• Holiday time off is not permitted, including the day before and after holidays

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Previous CVOR RN experience with demonstrated competency in advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
• Proficiency with balloon pump, Impella, and hybrid TAVR procedures
