Operating Room RN Job Details

Location: Flagstaff, AZ 86001 (Arizona healthcare jobs)
Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital
Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
Unit: Operating Room (OR)
Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00), Friday-Sunday block
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (facility may call off up to 6 shifts during 13-week assignment)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 1/12/2026)
On-Call: Limited call – 8 weeknight call shifts per 8-week period, 30 min call back time
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Scrubs: Provided for OR RNs
Charting System: Cerner EMR
Parking: Free on-site parking
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1800 - $1930

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
Active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or valid compact nursing license
BLS and ACLS certifications (required for all RN jobs)
Experience in Level I trauma center OR preferred (will consider highly skilled clinicians with recent Level II trauma experience in similar-sized or larger facilities)
Proficiency in general, orthopedic, spine, trauma, and neuro cases (including craniotomies)
First-time travel nurses accepted
Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
Strong adaptability, teamwork, and clinical support skills

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care in an 11-room OR specializing in orthopedic, trauma, spine, neuro, and general surgery
Participate in high-acuity surgical cases including craniotomies, joint replacements, and trauma procedures
Respond to on-call shifts as assigned, ensuring timely arrival within 30 minutes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy
Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
Adhere to hospital quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration protocols
Float to other units as needed based on census and skill set
