Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with significant spine case experience and a valid NC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital operating room with 19 OR suites and advanced certifications
• Patient population primarily includes spinal and neuro cases
• Average of 50 surgical cases per day
• Schedule options include 12-hour shifts (0700-1900), with flexibility for alternative shifts by agreement
• Average of 6 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule, with a 45-minute response time required
• On-call shifts may occur 11p-7a or 7a-7p/7p-7a on weekends
• Every other weekend rotation is required
• No floating required
• Support includes clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, OR assistants, unit secretaries, and tech engineers
• General OR equipment will be used for a variety of surgical services
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation and 2 days of departmental training
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available for staff
• Travelers are required to work 75% of holidays in the contract period
• Unit culture is consistent with a high-performing operating room environment

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 5 years of OR RN experience, with strong experience in spinal and neuro surgical cases
• CNOR certification preferred but not required
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
