Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
• Location: Abilene, Texas 79601 (Texas nursing jobs)
• Start Date: November 10, 2025
• End Date: February 9, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts (06:30 - 19:00), Monday–Wednesday; late days and on-call required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1860 - $2000
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (Texas RN jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Proven experience with craniotomy and burr hole procedures
• Clinical experience in Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma surgeries
• Endoscopy/Advanced GI procedure experience preferred (may float to GI/endoscopy)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS; CNOR preferred
• Previous charge nurse and trauma level I/II experience preferred
• Familiarity with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting systems preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

OR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative care to surgical patients in the main operating room
• Assist with a range of surgical procedures, including neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, general, and robotics cases
• Demonstrate proficiency in craniotomy and burr hole surgeries
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more)
• Participate in call rotation and work late shifts as needed
• Float to GI/endoscopy unit as required
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Support a 1:1 patient ratio in the OR setting
