**Job Title: Hematology Oncology/Bone Marrow Unit Registered Nurse**
**Location:** New York (NY)
**Shift:** Rotating Shift Schedule (Days, Evenings, Nights), Every Other Weekend, Holidays On-Call/Callback/Charge as per Unit Needs
**Contract Duration:** 17 Weeks
**Job Description:**
Join a highly skilled and dynamic team as a Hematology Oncology/Bone Marrow Unit Registered Nurse. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where you will care for adults in the hematology-oncology population. Your ability to effectively communicate and problem-solve will be essential as you navigate the complexities of patient care in this specialized field.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the hematology-oncology unit.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, adjusting care as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments, including chemotherapy, following established protocols.
- Provide patient education and support to patients and their families throughout treatment.
**Qualifications:**
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York State.
- Minimum of two (2) years of acute care experience, with preference given to candidates with a background in oncology and bone marrow transplant (BMT).
- Experience in telemetry is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
- Completion of chemo certification is necessary.
