Qualifications:

• 2 Years with 1 Year of direct MedSurg experience REQUIRED
• 1st Time Travelers are not ACCEPTED (Must have at least 2 successful contracts before applying)
• Locals are ACCEPTED
• REQUIRED Certs: BCLS, NIHSS

Skills REQUIRED: 

• IV Start and Telemetry
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and Management of dysrhythmias,
• Med/Surg neuro EXPERIENCE

PREFERRED Skills:

• PREFERRED Certs: ACLS

JOB DETAILS:

• RATIOS: 1:6.
• Unit will accept contracts for 13-16 weeks.
• 36 hrs only.
• SHIFT: 12HR DAYS
• Cannot approve Christmas RTO
• If RTO includes weekends, time will be added to end of contract to make up for those dates.
• Travelers are required to work every other weekend.
• Float Requirement: Floating Required: floating required to any other MS/Tele areas, may include COVID care units. If the traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, we will need to have them make up the weekend shifts based on the needs of the unit. Frequent floating may be required.
• PATIENT DIAGNOSES: We care primarily for Stroke patients, but also care for possible Neurosurgery patients as well as other Neuro diagnoses, such as Epilepsy, Traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and many more

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS:

• 4 BED Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).
• The unit trains our nurses for the EMU part and it does not typically affect our travelers unless we have trained them.
• 42 daily census.
• 43 rooms/beds

UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR

SCRUBS: Navy
