Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Washington, DC 20007 – Georgetown area, ideal for nurses seeking DC healthcare jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Unit: General Medicine/Telemetry (16 beds)
• Start Date: November 3, 2025
• End Date: February 2, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (Days: 06:30-19:00, Nights: 18:30-07:00, or rotating)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per contract)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1590-$1710

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a hospital setting
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
• Active DC Registered Nurse license (pending accepted with proof; must have by start date)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Ability to pass EKG test during orientation
• Willingness to work Thanksgiving holiday
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Two supervisor references required

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex, multisystem diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias
• Perform IV therapy, including PICC and peripheral line management and IV starts
• Manage feeding tubes, wound care, and tracheostomy care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services)
• Administer medications and treatments using Cerner and Pyxis systems
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols
• Float to other units as required and provide coverage during holidays and weekends
