Med/Surg RN Job Details – Petoskey, MI

• Location: Petoskey, Michigan 49770
• Unit: 2 South Medical Surgical Unit (28 beds)
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1630 - $1750 per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026)
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Completion of a nursing skills checklist within one year of application
• Ability to work every other weekend and comply with strict attendance policies

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered, evidence-based care to a diverse population including general/vascular surgery, bariatric, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Utilize clinical pathways, patient education, and effective communication to promote positive patient outcomes
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills within the nursing team
• Participate in shared governance and foster a healthy, positive work environment
• Maintain high standards of time management, productivity, and professionalism in all nursing duties
• Support and mentor new nurses and team members during orientation
