Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a Med/Surg hospital setting
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Active Illinois RN license in good standing
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Strong communication and clinical documentation skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg patients using the nursing process
Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans according to unit standards
Implement, evaluate, and modify care plans based on patient needs
Maintain accurate documentation for all patient care activities
Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing hazards
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure quality patient outcomes
Participate in professional development and support peer growth through feedback
Fulfill departmental competencies and engage in ongoing learning
