Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details – Lubbock, TX

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1770-$1900
• Assignment Length: 26 weeks (must continue through May 2026)
• Start Date: November 17, 2025
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: 30-bed Orthopedic Trauma Unit, Level II Trauma Center
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Floating: May float between units and sister facilities as needed
• Weekends: As needed
• Dress Code: Solid navy blue scrubs for RNs
• Parking: Free employee/visitor parking available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response/code team participation, and blood product administration
• Skills in wound care, wound vac management, orthopedic trauma, and post-op patient management
• Two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years
• Willingness to float as needed

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a 30-bed orthopedic trauma unit
• Manage post-operative patients, blood administration, wound vacs, and orthopedic trauma cases
• Perform phlebotomy, patient lifting/transfers, and pressure injury prevention
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response
• Document patient care using the Epic EMR system
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and isolation precautions
• Float to other nursing units or sister healthcare facilities as required
• Participate in orientation and complete all required modules prior to start
