Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Facility: Inpatient Surgical Unit (36-bed adult unit)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Start Date: December 8, 2025 or December 22, 2025
• End Date: March 7, 2026
• Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day/Night: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• Unit Specialty: Orthopedic, trauma, plastics, and general surgery
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2200-$2360

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – required for travel nursing jobs
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (travel nurse experience preferred)
• Skilled in post-surgical patient care: lines, tubes, drains
• Experience with chest tubes, trachs/laryngectomies, and complex wound care
• Telemetry nursing experience
• Ability to manage IV drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone)
• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult surgical patients in a busy inpatient unit
• Mobilize and rehabilitate orthopedic, trauma, and post-surgical patients
• Monitor telemetry and manage complex wounds
• Administer and titrate IV drips as ordered
• Care for chest tubes, trachs, laryngectomies, and post-surgical lines/tubes/drains
• Perform central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
