Unit & Role Details

Unit: Medical/Surgical
Float Requirement: May float to any CommonSpirit location within 60 miles or designated float zone; may include duties outside original job scope

Responsibilities

Full-spectrum Med/Surg nursing care including:
- Patient assessment (physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual)
- Care planning and implementation
- Medication administration, wound care, IVs, catheterization
- Patient/family education
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Delegation per state board and hospital policy
- Participation in quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Mentoring/precepting new staff or students
- Maintaining professional development and records

Requirements

Experience: 1+ year preferred
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (required); BSN (preferred)
Licensure: Active RN license in KS or Compact state
Certifications (must be in-hand):
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
