Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or Compact State
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – required
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification – required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification – required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification – preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Eligibility to work in the United States
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in a medical-surgical setting
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, and referrals
• Provide patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and clinical condition
• Delegate nursing tasks to support staff and precept new nurses or student nurses as needed
• Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Demonstrate compassionate, patient-centered care and build therapeutic relationships
• Apply evidence-based nursing interventions and utilize healthcare technology for optimal outcomes
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to regulatory and compliance standards
• Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives within the healthcare facility
