• Unit: Oncology – Medical Surgical Telemetry
• Job Type: Travel RN Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 2/9/2026)
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: As scheduled
• Floating: Required within specialty and to lower acuity units
• Charting: Epic EMR
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Unit Size: 30 beds
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1790 - $1920

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license (required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (Oncology nursing experience preferred)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
• ACLS and Chemo (ONS/ONCC) certifications preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Community hospital RN experience
• Ability to float within hospital and specialty units
• Two professional references from recent employers (1 supervisor/manager, 1 charge RN)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Not eligible for locals within 50 miles
• First-time travel nurses welcome

RN Responsibilities – Oncology Med/Surg Telemetry

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, administer medications (including chemotherapy if certified), and manage central lines and ports
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Services)
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the care process
• Implement isolation precautions and neutropenic protocols
• Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, and post-surgical management
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values, manage side effects
• Float to other units within scope of experience as needed
• Participate in self-scheduling and comply with weekend/holiday requirements
