Position: LDRP RN – Nights

Facility: Birthing Center / Mother Baby Unit

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Shift: 12-hour nights; Every other weekend (Fri/Sat)

Unit & Facility Details

• Beds:
  • 34 total L&D beds
  • 2 OR suites for C-sections
  • 2 triage beds
  • 14 postpartum beds
• Births: 150–180 per month (2,133 in 2022)
• AWHONN Ratios:
  • 1:2 L&D
  • 1:3–4 couplets
• Patient Types: ≥33 weeks gestation, high-risk pregnancies, preeclampsia, diabetes, psych/social concerns, substance use

Certifications & Experience

• Required: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Preferred: Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring
• Experience:
  • LDRP experience required
  • Must be able to independently attend deliveries, circulate C-sections, assist with catching/transitions
  • 2+ years RN experience (will consider 1 year with multiple travel contracts)
  • Must be able to titrate magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin drips

Staffing & Support

• Charge Nurse: Always free (no patient assignment)
• Support Staff:
  • Surgical tech on unit 24/7
  • PCA with clerical duties each shift
• Providers:
  • OB/GYN hospitalist in-house 24/7
  • Neonatal NP 24/7 in nursery
  • OB anesthesia in-house 24/7

Equipment & Charting

• RT Equipment: Vents, CPAP, BiPAP
• EFM System: Centricity-Perinatal
• Charting: Epic

Scheduling & Policies

• Weekend Requirement: EOW (Fri/Sat for nights)
• Block Scheduling: Allowed if requested in contract
• Holiday Rotation: With perm staff
• Call Requirement: Standby with 45-minute response time
• Floating: Within Mother Baby/Postpartum; no NICU or other departments
• Dress Code: Scrubs provided; locker available
• Orientation:
  • 8-hour compliance meeting
  • 8-hour Epic class
  • 2–3 twelve-hour unit orientation shifts
