Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position with postpartum and Med/Surg float requirements in a Critical Access Hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care Critical Access Hospital on a combined Labor & Delivery, postpartum, nursery, and mother-baby couplet unit
• Primary assignment is in L&D but candidate must also float to postpartum and Medical/Surgical units as required
• Unit has 4 beds plus 2 overflow and handles 8 to 15 births per month
• Active labor patient ratio is 1:1; triage ratio is 1:3-4
• Shift is nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week from 7 PM to 7 AM
• Weekend coverage required every third weekend (Friday through Sunday)
• Call is not required
• Uses Epic EMR
• Must provide L&D, postpartum, nursery, and mother-baby care as well as float to Med/Surg as needed
• Scrubs may be any color or pattern but must be clean and in good condition
• Holiday coverage required every third holiday, rotating with permanent staff and may be more depending on needs
• 2-3 days of floor-specific orientation provided depending on candidate comfort level

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Experience with C-section preparation and comfort with baby care post-delivery required
• Ability to take patient assignments on the Med/Surg unit, with ratios of 3-4 (or up to 5 on nights)
