Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a comprehensive LDRP unit with recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) unit within a hospital birthing pavilion
• Unit features 21 rooms, a 2-bed triage area, and 2 operating rooms
• Handles approximately 1300 deliveries per year
• Nurse to patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for Pitocin/active labor and intermittent monitoring, 1:2 for cervical ripening/high-risk meds, 1:3 for Antepartum and Postpartum couplets
• Day and night rotating shifts, 36 hours per week
• Facility operates as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• No local candidates accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius
• Nurses are expected to care for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients
• Unit follows evidence-based staffing guidelines for optimal patient care

Requirements

• Active RN license required and must remain current throughout the assignment
• BLS certification required
• Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting
• Competency in all aspects of the LDRP care model
