About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: First-time travelers welcome Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The position is available for night shifts, working 3 twelve-hour shifts each week. Candidates must be able to couplet care for well babies and manage labor patients. Nurses also circulate cesarean sections within the unit. Responsibilities include providing support for various newborn conditions, such as TTN, hypoglycemia, and respiratory distress. The unit promotes couplet care, rooming most newborns in with their parents. Nurses will assist the pediatrician with procedures like lumbar punctures, circumcisions, UVC insertions, intubations, and stabilization of neonates. Candidates will provide care for neonates requiring IV antibiotics, glucose support, and respiratory assistance while encouraging parental involvement. Experience in triage of obstetrical patients is necessary, along with skills in labor and delivery practices. Nurses must have experience with newborn assessments, breastfeeding support, and post-operative care. The unit has a patient ratio of 3 patients per nurse. Candidates should be familiar with the Epic documentation system. Scrubs are provided in specified colors. The scheduling will align with the needs of the unit, and flexibility may be required.
