Travel Nursing Job Details – Kodiak, AK

• Location: Kodiak, AK 99615 – Ideal for nurses seeking Alaska travel nursing jobs with ocean views and outdoor adventure.
• Assignment Type: Travel, On-Site Registered Nurse position
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: June 1, 2026
• Duration: 26-week contract
• Shifts: 4x12-hour shifts per week (days or nights, 07:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00; set prior to start)
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• On-Call: No
• Housing & Vehicle: Facility-provided 1-bedroom apartment and rental vehicle for the entire assignment
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2110 - $2260

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Alaska RN license can be pending at submission; must apply ASAP if offered)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (LDRP skills required)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• Facility only accepts Hepatitis B vaccines (no titers or declinations)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital
• Perform all aspects of LDRP nursing: labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and newborn assessments
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage epidural anesthesia and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Educate and support patients and families on breastfeeding, newborn care, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
