Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
Shifts per Week: 3x12 or 4x12 (36 or 48 hours/week)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2050
Charting System: Cerner
Parking: Free onsite

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
AWHONN Intermediate course (may be pending before start)
Proficiency with Cerner charting system
Ability to float to Methodist Hospital ED for OB-specific care
Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract
Two supervisor references required
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Travelers only; Indiana residents considered local and not eligible

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients, including high-risk and complex cases
Perform and interpret Non-Stress Tests (NST), fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement/calibration
Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and emergency deliveries
Administer medications and therapies (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin drips, blood products)
Monitor and manage patients with pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, diabetes mellitus, RH incompatibilities, and multiple gestations
Conduct newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and provide immediate neonatal care including resuscitation
Support postpartum care, including hemorrhage management, wound assessment, and couplet care
Float to affiliated units as needed, providing OB-specific care
Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
