Job Details – Labor & Delivery RN Travel Assignment

• Location: Clinton, Maryland 20735 (Washington, D.C. metro area)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: November 3, 2025 – End: February 2, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (High Risk)
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1890 – $2030
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Scrubs: Provided
• Charting System: Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Active Compact RN license or Maryland Registered Nurse license
• Required certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS, STABLE, NRP, BLS
• Must register for C-EFM during compliance phase or within first two weeks of assignment
• Preferred: C-EFM certification through NCC
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Two supervisor references required
• Ability to float to similar units (e.g., Mom/Baby); travelers float before permanent staff
• Call required: 36 hours in 6 weeks, or 12 hours per pay period (must be on premises within 45 minutes after call)
• Weekend/Holiday coverage required: Every other weekend/holiday as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
• Monitor and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Triage obstetrical patients and respond to OB emergencies
• Serve as preceptor and/or charge nurse as needed
• Float to Mom/Baby and similar units as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital environment
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner electronic charting system
