Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) 

Location: Clinton, MD 20735 

Start Date: November 17, 2025

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN to join our team at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Clinton, Maryland. This is a 36-hour day shift contract with call responsibilities and a dynamic schedule. The ideal candidate is clinically proficient, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality maternal care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to laboring patients in a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Circulate in the operating room and perform fetal heart monitoring (FHM)
• Serve as a preceptor and/or charge nurse as needed
• Float to like units such as Mom/Baby prior to permanent staff
• Respond to call within 45 minutes of notification

Schedule Details:

• 36-hour contract, day shift
• Call requirement: 24 hours over a 6-week period
• Weekend and holiday coverage: every other as needed
• No guaranteed set schedule; flexibility required

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• At least one prior travel assignment
• High-risk L&D and triage experience preferred
• Must be willing to float and adapt to unit needs

Certifications Required:

• AWHONN Intermediate
• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP
• STABLE
• Must register for C-EFM during compliance or within first two weeks of assignment

Preferred Certifications:

• C-EFM through NCC
• AWHONN Advanced

Facility Details:

• Teaching hospital; member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH)
• 338 staffed beds
• Cerner charting system
• Scrubs provided
