Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) 

Location: Charlotte, NC 

Start Date: November 10, 2025 

We are seeking a clinically strong and adaptable Labor and Delivery RN to join a high-volume birthing care unit in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a night shift travel contract offering 13–26 week durations. The unit is fast-paced and high acuity, requiring nurses with strong intrapartum and OR circulation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, including high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum cases
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and immediate newborn care
• Circulate in the OR for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Support outpatient procedures such as antenatal fetal surveillance, IV hydration, and medication administration
• Float to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed

Schedule Details:

• Night shift: 12-hour (18:45–07:15)
• 48-hour contracts available (no overtime until after 48 hours billed)
• Every other weekend required (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• No call requirement
• RTO after booking is not permitted; additional RTO may result in cancellation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience (3 years preferred)
• First-time travelers accepted with experience in large, high-volume settings
• Strong clinical background in obstetrics and OR circulation
• Local candidates accepted

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• AWHONN Intermediate
• NRP
• C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN

Preferred Certifications:

• AWHONN Advanced
