Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Brownwood, TX 76801 (Texas travel nursing jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910–$2040 per week
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel RN contract
• Start Dates: 10/27/2025 or 11/10/2025
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Labor & Delivery-Recovery (L&D RN jobs)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks
• Orientation: 80 hours (includes modules)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (Texas RN jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (required for L&D nurse jobs)
• Experience with Allscripts or Altera charting systems preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Must reside at least 150 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a Level II Maternal Facility
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum care
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage IVs
• Monitor fetal heart rates and perform non-stress tests (NSTs)
• Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new mothers
• Educate parents and provide discharge teaching
• Utilize specialized equipment such as fetal monitors, Panda warmers, and Tot Guard
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital protocols
