Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Ashland, WI 54806 (Northern Wisconsin healthcare jobs)
• Facility: LDRP Unit (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 09/29/2025 – End: 12/29/2025)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), plus 2 on-call 12-hour shifts per 4-week schedule
• Weekend/Holiday: 2 weekends per 4 weeks; every other holiday
• Charting: EPIC electronic medical record system
• Scrubs: Purple scrubs provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin or compact state (required for Wisconsin nursing jobs)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications
• AWHONN certification preferred
• 2-3 years of independent OB nursing experience (Labor, Postpartum, Newborn Care)
• Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) documentation
• Experience with IV drip titration (Pitocin, Magnesium, occasional insulin)
• Preferred experience with Neopuff T-Piece respiratory equipment
• Willingness to float to other hospital departments as needed
• Ability to respond within one hour when on call

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns in a Level 1 Obstetric and Nursery Care setting
• Triage obstetric patients and manage common OB diagnoses (pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, etc.)
• Care for patients 36 weeks and above; assist with transfers for high-risk obstetric cases
• Titrate and monitor IV drips as required for labor and delivery patients
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC and GE CPN monitoring systems
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including 15 MDs from local clinics and ER physicians for urgent deliveries
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to unit needs
• Float to other hospital units as RN/CNA helper during low census periods
