Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology
Location: Washington, DC 20037

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 10-hour Day Shift | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
 

Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Radiology provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The RN ensures patient safety and comfort, supports physicians during procedures, and provides education and emotional support to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments and document findings accurately.
• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
• Monitor patient status, interpret vital signs, and respond appropriately to changes.
• Assist in the administration of medications and contrast agents as ordered.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Prepare and maintain sterile procedure environments and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
• Participate in on-call coverage for nights and weekends as scheduled.
• Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best nursing practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Active DC RN License (free of disciplinary actions or “hits”)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification – Required
• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care Interventional Radiology experience
• Neuro Stroke experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
