Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a cardiovascular critical care unit with arterial line experience and trauma background.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular Critical Care (CVCC) unit of a hospital
• Day and night rotating shifts required, totaling 36 hours per week
• 16-week contract position
• Responsible for post-surgical patients with lines, tubes, and drains
• Care for ventilated patients and those requiring vasoactive medications
• Holiday coverage required; no time off permitted on 12/24 or 12/25
• Assist with insertion and maintenance of central and arterial lines
• Interpret PA lines and waveforms specific to the CVCC setting
• Participate in the care of both surgical and trauma patients with complex monitoring needs
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary critical care team
• No first-time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required and must remain active throughout the assignment
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are required
• Must have recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the last 2 years
• Experience with arterial lines is required
• Critical care experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring preferred
• Familiarity with ICP monitoring, pressors, inotropes, ventilators, PA lines, ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, and EVD is preferred
• No local candidates allowed; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
