ICU Nurse Job Details

• Location: Baltimore, MD 21218 (Maryland healthcare jobs)
• Setting: ICU/CCU – Critical Care Unit
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Nursing
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/28/2025 – End: 1/27/2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1630 - $1750
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 24 beds, average daily census 18
• Float: Required
• Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state (Maryland nursing jobs)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Local candidates accepted (within 60 miles of Baltimore)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and acute stroke
• Perform advanced clinical procedures: 12-lead EKG, ECMO, CVVHD/CRRT, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ICP monitoring
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, and rapid response
